SPFL fixtures: Hearts/Hibs derby date announced

THE first Edinburgh derby of the new SPFL season will take place at Tynecastle on the second week of the campaign.

Hearts and Hibs will meet on Saturday, August 10, providing a much-needed cash injection for the stricken Jambos.

A New Year derby is also scheduled for Wednesday, January 1 at Easter Road.

Hearts will kick off the 2013-14 campaign with an away trip to St Johnstone on August 3, while Hibs play host to Motherwell in their opening fixture. That match will be played on Sunday, August 4, because of Motherwell’s European involvement.
