Scottish Cup semi finals: Hibs face Falkirk


It is the first time the Easter Road side has been drawn against the Bairns in the Scottish Cup semi finals. Dundee United and Celtic have met three times, with Celtic enjoying two victories.
The ties will be played on the weekend of the 13th and 14th April.

Hide AdCeltic got some revenge for their League Cup semi final defeat with a 2-1 win over St Mirren, as Falkirk bested First Division counterparts Hamilton, whilst on Sunday Dundee United saw off city rivals Dundee, with a Leigh Griffiths-inspired Hibernian defeating Kilmarnock to advance to the penultimate round.

A late Kevin James goal had given the mid-table First Division side a 1-1 draw in the first match at Ibrox, cancelling out Tommy Johnson’s opener and taking the game to a replay. Celtic, who had already beaten Hibernian in a previous round, were stunned by Falkirk in the rematch, with Paul McGrillen’s 19th minute goal proving to be the winner as Celtic faced a second consecutive trophyless season.
Dundee United 2-1 Hibernian; Scottish Cup Semi Final 2004/05
27,271 turned up at Hampden to see goals from Jim McIntyre and Jason Scotland give United a 2-1 win over Tony Mowbray’s Hibs in April 2005. A Derek Riordan penalty had given Hibs the lead but Jim McIntyre levelled on 73 minutes, before Scotland’s winning goal 14 minutes from time.
