Could Rangers make loan move for Chelsea U21 striker?

RANGERS could make enquiries about Chelsea Under-21 forward Tammy Abraham, after Gers scouts took in the Blues’ reserve match with Sunderland.

Although Chelsea lost 3-1, Abraham was on the scoresheet, and it has been suggested that Warburton could look to strengthen his attacking options in January. with Abraham a possibility.

A tall centre forward, Abraham can also play out wide, and has netted 14 goals in 13 appearances so far this season. (Various)

Feruz set to end Hibs loan

ISLAM Feruz could be set to quit Hibs before the end of his season-long loan spell, with rumours the Chelsea youngster could invoke a clause in his contract allowing him to return south.

The Scottish forward was a surprise deadline day loan signing for Hibs, but has found first-team opportunities limited, making just five appearances from the bench.

Derby, Fulham and Preston have all been linked with a loan move for Feruz, should he terminate his loan spell in Edinburgh. (Various)

Warburton ‘set for pay rise’ to fend off suitors

MARK Warburton is set to receive a pay rise to try and fend off suitors - the latest being Fulham.

The ex-Brentford boss has reportedly had five opportunities to leave Rangers but took to Twitter to emphatically state that he was going nowhere.

Stokes wanted by Preston

PRESTON are the latest club to be linked with Anthony Stokes, after the Irish striker copped a two-week ban from Celtic beaks after his Twitter outburst.

Stokes was a target for the Deepdale boss Simon Grayson in summer 2012, during his stint as Huddersfield manager, and with Stevie May suffering a knee injury, Grayson could move for Stokes as a replacement.

Hoops fans ‘will be safe in Turkey’

CELTIC have vowed to keep their fans safe in Turkey when they take on Fenerbahce, amid security fears.

Celtic supporters travelling to the Europa League match will be bussed to the Turkish giants’ stadium and have been warned to avoid the subway system after a bomb went off in Istanbul earlier this week, injuring six.

Insall ‘has striker’s instinct’

EAST Fife manager Gary Naysmith believes on-loan Jamie Insall has a chance of making the grade at Hibs after being left impressed by his wholeheartedness and natural striker’s instinct.

The 23-year-old Englishman initially moved to the League Two side on a 28-day emergency loan at the start of November and last week had it extended until January 24.

Naysmith said: “The good thing is we’ve now got him until the end of January because I’ve been happy with what I’ve seen of him.

“There’s the possibility of extending it to the end of the season, but that’s a wee bit away yet. If Jamie scores a few goals for us, Alan might want him back so we’ll need to wait and see.” (Evening News)

Hearts keen for Osman to sign new deal

HEARTS hope Osman Sow will be next to sign a contract extension after Igor Rossi and Arnaud Djoum pledged their futures to the Edinburgh club.

Negotiations are ongoing with the Swedish forward and his representatives and his signing is now the priority following deals for Rossi and Djoum.

The Brazilian defender and Belgian midfielder both signed contract extensions in the last 48 hours, tying them to Tynecastle until May 2017. (Evening News)
