Scotland v USA: McCormack called up

ROSS McCormack has been added to the Scotland squad for tomorrow’s game with the USA after Jordan Rhodes suffered an ankle injury in training.

Scotland are already without wingers Chris Burke and James Forrest due to injury.

Tony Watt in trouble in Belgium again

ON-LOAN Celtic striker Tony Watt has been sent home from training for a second time after a bust-up with Lierge manager Stanley Menzo.

Watt reportedly refused to take direction from Menzo, who described the teenage striker as overweight when he arrived in Belgium.

‘Joe Ledley will re-sign’, says Adam Matthews

CELTIC’S Adam Matthews believes that it is a matter of time before Joe Ledley signs a new deal at the club.

Matthews, Ledley’s international teammate with Wales, said: “He’s got better every season he’s been here and I hope he stays, keeps improving and makes the team better.

“I’m sure I won’t have to talk him into re-signing.’

Falkirk fans get free tickets over Rangers move

FALKIRK are to give away free tickets to season ticket holders who have been forced to make room for Rangers fans at the sides’ upcoming Scottish Cup tie.

Some fans have been moved from their main stand seats to allow for more away supporters at the fourth-round clash. Falkirk are set to give those affected free tickets to bring a friend to a home game as a peace offering. (Sun)

Csaba: ‘I can take Caley to Europe’

FORMER Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo is “very interested” in the vacant managerial role at Inverness Caledonian Thistle, and believes he can take the side to the Europa League if appointed.

Laszlo also described his former job as Lithuania boss as “a little boring”, and said that a visit to Loch Ness with his daughters has solidified Caley as his favoured destination despite interest from other sides in Europe.

• RICHIE Foran has ruled himself out of the running for the job - the club captain has been assisting caretaker boss Duncan Shearer but says he “has a few years left” as a player.

Rangers want Gardiner to make move

SCOT Gardiner has been given 24 hours to decide whether or not he wants to become the new Rangers chief executive.

The Record claim that acting chairman David Somers has imposed the deadline to allow time for other board members to be appointed before the club’s annual general meeting - and showdown with rebel shareholders - takes place next month.

SPFL ‘on a par with English third division’

EX-KILMARNOCK winger James Dayton believes that the standard of play in the SPFL Premiership is on par with England’s League One - the third tier of English football.

Dayton said: “The standard is a little bit better down here. It is quite physical in Scotland, but that aspect of the game is much the same here.”

Dayton also hit out at the lack of variety in the 12-team Scottish Premiership, compared to the 24 in each of the Football League divisions. (Express)
