Forrester set for Gers switch

DONCASTER Rovers midfielder Harry Forrester is set to join Rangers after falling out of favour at the Keepmoat Stadium.

The 24-year-old has made just nine appearances for Doncaster this season, and has also spent time at Brentford, under Mark Warburton, as well as Kilmarnock on loan.

Forrester is believed to be negotiating an early release from Rovers, allowing him to move north. (Daily Mail)

Rangers could face probe over sectarian songs

THE SPFL will wait to see what its match delegate has to say before deciding whether to take action against Rangers over sectarian chanting during Monday’s clash with Hibs.

The banned Billy Boys song could be clearly heard being sung by the home support while visiting head coach Alan Stubbs was also targeted.

Now the club could face potential punishment if the SPFL’s delegate decides to raise the matter when he submits his report on the match. (The Scotsman)

Stubbs backs Halliday appeal

ALAN Stubbs is hopeful that Rangers midfielder Andy Halliday wins his appeal against the red card he was shown at Ibrox on Monday.

Much post-match chatter has centred on Fraser Fyvie’s somewhat over-exaggerated reaction after Halliday aimed a kick at the Hibs midfielder and then shoulder barged him.

Stubbs said: “Andy Halliday had a reaction and Fraser’s had a reaction. Two wrongs don’t make a right. I want us to do things right on and off the pitch and if there’s no contact, then I hope Andy gets off with it.” (Scottish Sun/The Scotsman)

Stubbs brushes off sectarian abuse

HIBS head coach Alan Stubbs has brushed off sectarian abuse directed at him during the defeat at Ibrox, saying: “If they weren’t worried about me they wouldn’t sing about me.”

Stubbs, who said that he didn’t think anyone wanted to see a sectarian element to the game, added: “I heard it once, and you saw me on the side of the pitch – I didn’t run back to my dugout. I wasn’t scared of it.

“Unfortunately, you’ll always get the few that will do it and it will have a negative effect on the club. But there are good people at Rangers and to tar them all with the same brush would be wrong.” (The Scotsman)

Matt Crooks and Josh Windass to be offered Gers deals

RANGERS are also set to offer deals to Matt Crooks and Josh Windass of Accrington Stanley, thought to be pre-contract arrangements.

Playmaker Windass and utility man Crooks, both 21, have impressed at Accrington, with Rangers being linked with Windass in the past.

Windass has scored 11 goals in 24 games while Crooks, who can play in defence or midfield, has caught the eye since his move from Huddersfield. (Daily Mail)

Rangers youngster set to knock back Celtic switch

RANGERS kid Liam Burt looks set to reject a move to Celtic in the summer and sign a new deal at Rangers.

The 16-year-old is tipped to impress in the future, and it is reported that Burt is set to renew his contract at Ibrox during the close season, despite interest from Celtic. (Scottish Sun)

Celtic prepare Souttar bid

CELTIC boss Ronny Deila WILL splash the cash in January, with versatile Dundee United defender John Souttar at the top of his shopping list.

The Norwegian revealed that an outlay of at least £2 million has been agreed with Parkhead chiefs as they agreed that new faces need to be brought in. (Various)
