Charles Green plans shock Rangers return

Charles Green has revealed to the Sun that he is ready to make a shock comeback at Rangers as Mike Ashley’s boardroom rep. Green reiterated the point that Ashley is entitled to two directors at Rangers due to his £10m loan before going on to say that he himself could be one. Green, who was ousted in 2013, said: “I’m happy to go back and represent Ashley. I can imagine that being fun.” (Sun)

Ronny Deila is feeling confident over treble

Hoops boss Deila insists he’s feeling confident in his players despite Jackie McNamara claiming the Norwegian was feeling the heat.

Ronny Deila said: “I feel pressure all the time. But I enjoy that. It’s a positive pressure.

“I’d be very surprised if we have a big dip.

“If we keep the same tempo in everything we do, hopefully we will win the three trophies.”

When asked about the game against Dundee United, the Celtic boss added: “Was I surprised at how easy it was? You can see the effects of what three games in six days can do to teams. We do it all the time but you could see United were tired today.” (Mail)

Robbie Neilson won’t be watching Hibs v Rangers

The Hearts manager has revealed he won’t be watching Rangers play Hibs at Easter Road, despite the fact that if Hibs fail to win, Hearts will be crowned champions. He said: “I’ll be doing part of my Pro Licence at Stirling University. I’ll keep my phone switched on for updates, but I’d rather win the title at Tynecastle next week.” (Post)

Neilson admits he would have settled for a last-day title decider against Rangers

HEARTS gaffer Robbie Neilson admitted he would have settled for a last-day league decider against Rangers.

He said: “To be honest, I looked at the fixtures at the start of the campaign and saw we had  Rangers on the first and last games of the season.

“I would have taken the idea of going into the last game against them needing a result. I would have taken a league decider at Tynecastle.

“But thankfully we don’t need to do that. Hopefully.” (Record)

Paul Hartley: I’ll stand by Paul McGowan even if he ends in jail

DUNDEE boss Paul Hartley last night insisted he’ll stand by Paul McGowan even if he ends up in jail.

The midfielder was convicted on Thursday after pleading guilty to police assault . He’ll now be sentenced on April 13, with the sheriff taking two previous convictions for the same offence into consideration.

But the 27-year-old played in his side’s 1-1 draw with Aberdeen  yesterday and Hartley has vowed not to axe him.

The Dens boss said: “I sense regret from Paul, he’s had a fright.

“He’s at an age where he needs to grow up and he knows that. But we will stand by him 100  per cent.” (Various)

Gary Teale blasts his ‘awful’ St Mirren side after defeat

Furious St Mirren boss Gary Teale labelled his side’s performance “awful” after they fell to a 2-0 defeat to St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park.

The visitors struggled to create chances throughout the match and Teale refused to make excuses for his players’ display.

“We were awful and I have let my feelings be known,” he said.

“We were out-fought and out-battled. Whatever way you want to look at it we just didn’t compete.

“I had taken positives over the last number of weeks but here it looked like St Johnstone wanted it more and for one of my teams I am extremely disappointed, because that shouldn’t be the case.” (STV)
