“You could fire 100 into the crowd - it’s a bit of fun - but no. I was told under health and safety I wasn’t allowed to.” (Sunday Mail)

• THE arrival of new CEO Graham Wallace, and his backing by manager Ally McCoist, cannot alone end the boardroom merry-go-round at Ibrox, according to Scotland on Sunday’s Tom English.

English writes: “(McCoist) wasn’t just going to vote for the current board... because of his own survival instinct but because he felt it was in the best interests of the club.

““I have the best interests of the club at heart” has been bandied about Ibrox so often in recent years that it has now become almost as big a footballing cliche as “over the moon” and “sick as a parrot”.” Read the full article here

• DEREK Riordan and Garry O’Connor are “the lost boys of Hibernian”, writes Aidan Smith.

Smith says: “When people talk about the team developing under Tony Mowbray possibly winning the title if it had stayed together, they are mainly thinking of the goals these two scored.”
