Pires set to join Vieira at Easter Road

Ian MURRAY will play alongside two of his boyhood heroes after Robert Pires agreed to join fellow French World Cup winner Patrick Vieira in the Hibs skipper’s testimonial match on Sunday, the Evening News can reveal today.

Murray has been an Arsenal fan since his youth. Pires, capped 79 times by France, and as well as winning the World Cup and European Championships, picked up three FA Cup winners’ medals, two Premiership titles and a 2006 Champions League runners-up medal. Graeme Cadger, chairman of Murray’s testimonial committee, said: “We are delighted Robert has accepted our invitation and we look forward to welcoming him to Easter Road.”

All sponsorship and hospitality packages for Sunday are sold out. However a limited number of VIP Tickets are available for the Edinburgh Suite.

A free prize draw for all VIP ticket holders will be made on the day with the winner receiving a Hibs strip signed by Vieira, Pires and Murray.
