Kenny Miller keen on short-term return to SPL

SCOTLAND striker Kenny Miller is thought to be keen on a short-term move to the SPL this winter, with St Mirren currently favourites to sign him.

Miller plays his club football for the Vancouver Whitecaps in the MLS, with the season finished and not set to resume until March. He is currently training with former club Rangers.

St Mirren boss Danny Lennon has said that the club have contacted Miller, who is believed to be keen to keep playing. He said: “We’ve had initital contact with Kenny and now we’re awaiting news.” Hibernian are also believed to have made preliminary approaches.

Miller will need to negotiate a short-term release from his club much as David Beckham did when he played for LA Galaxy.

Kris Boyd could be on the way out of his MLS side, the Portland Timbers, after the former Scotland international scored just seven goals in 27 appearances for the club this season.

Former Elgin City and Ross County midfielder Adam Moffat has signed a new deal with the league’s Houston Dynamo.
