The Hibs-Falkirk clash is a repeat of the 2013 semi-final which saw the Edinburgh side, who infamously have not won the competition since 1902, claw back a 3-0 first-half deficit to win 4-3 after extra time.

Leigh Griffiths scored a sensational winner to take Pat Fenlon’s men to the final, which they lost 3-0 to Celtic. The match will be shown live on BBC Scotland and Sky Sports.

The Celtic-Inverness clash on Sunday 19 April will be live on Sky. Celtic booked their place in the last four on Wednesday when they thrashed Dundee United 4-0 in a quarter-final replay at Parkhead.

Meanwhile, two of the biggest matches of the English season will take place simultaneously next month when the Barclays Premier League clash between Manchester United and Chelsea kicks off 10 minutes after Arsenal’s FA Cup semi-final against Reading. The FA announced yesterday that the first semi-final at Wembley between the Gunners and Steve Clarke’s men will take place at 5.20pm on Saturday 18 April and be broadcast live on BBC 1.

That sees it go head-to-head with Sky Sports’ evening kick-off between Chelsea and United which is due to start at 5.30pm.

The second semi-final between Aston Villa and either Blackburn or Liverpool will be screened by BT Sport 1 on Sunday 19 April with a 3pm kick-off.

The afternoon kick-off will be welcomed by fans having to travel back to the north west and midlands on Sunday evening. Arsenal, Reading and Villa have all been allocated 31,500 tickets for the semi-finals with further details to be released following the quarter-final replay on 8 April.
