Hibs striker Eoin Doyle agrees Chesterfield switch

HIBERNIAN striker Eoin Doyle has agreed a deal with Chesterfield that will see the Irish striker join the League Two side in the summer, according to BBC Radio Sheffield.

Doyle, who has netted nine times in 41 appearances for Hibs, is out of contract in the summer, and played under current Spireites boss Paul Cook during his time at Sligo Rovers, where he scored 29 goals in 84 games and won the Irish Cup.

The 25-year-old was Pat Fenlon’s first signing for Hibernian, joining the Easter Road side in December 2011 amid reported interest from SPL rivals Aberdeen, as well as Ipswich Town.

Doyle scored in consecutive cup games for Hibs as they saw off Cowdenbeath 3-2 at Central Park, and then Kilmarnock 1-0 at Easter Road.

His first league goal in green and white came in last season’s relegation showdown with Dunfermline, as Hibs ran out 4-0 winners to secure their top flight status.
