Hibs launch interest free season tickets

Hibs today launched their new season ticket campaign allowing fans to buy on the “never never” with the Easter Road club picking up the tab.

The “Forever Green” initiative introduces a simpler pricing structure and the chance to spread the cost of a ticket over 11 months at no extra cost which, say the club, will make season tickets more affordable.

Instead, Hibs will pay the interest for fans who subscribe to their payment plan during the special offer window which will operate from today until April 1, while prices will also be discounted for that period meaning an adult will pay less than £35 a month for their ticket.

And 11 lucky fans will find themselves paying absolutely nothing for their tickets with everyone who buys a season package entered into a monthly draw – the first of which will take place at midnight tonight.

Recognising previous schemes perhaps offered too many different categories of tickets, membership prices will be the same in the East, West and Famous Five Upper Stands. Prices will range from £85 for a child to £120 for a student and from £165 for a fan over 65 to £380 for an adult throughout this month. For those who opt for the purchase plan, say Hibs, that will mean a monthly payment ranging from £7.73 for a child aged 11 or under, to £34.55 for an adult.

From April 2 the cost of a ticket for these areas will be £145 (child), £170 (student), £215 (senior) and £405 (adult).

Pricing for the family section in the lower tier of the Famous Five Stand has been frozen, costs ranging from £25 for a child through £95 for a student, £140 for a senior and £355 for an adult and, again, payments can be spread, interest free, over 11 months. An added

incentive is that the first 100 child season tickets for this section will be free provided they are purchased with an adult membership while all children who have a season ticket will automatically become a member of Hibs Kids for free.

However, the popular “Cup Top Up”, allowing fans to see all cup matches played at Easter Road, is not included in the season ticket price although those who buy before the April 1 deadline will get a 50 per cent discount, leaving children, students and seniors to pay £15 and adults £25.

Hibs, who currently have 8000 season ticket holders, are also hoping to attract new members by offering a “Start Now” package entitling those who commit for next season the chance to see the remaining five matches of the season at Easter Road at a discount price – starting with next weekend’s derby with Hearts. Packages range from £20 for a child to £80 for an adult but will only be available until April 1.

Some 16,000 fans on the club’s database will receive information on the various packages, including a “fun” quiz, with the promise again made that all money generated by the purchase of season tickets will be devoted to manager Pat Fenlon’s budget. A club spokesman said: “The most effective way fans can support their club and genuinely make a difference is to become a season ticket member. Each season, the product on the pitch relates directly to the amount of season ticket memberships purchased.

“The 8000 season ticket members have helped the club make progress this season, think what 16,000 could help their club achieve.”
