Birmingham eye Colin Calderwood

COLIN Calderwood is set to be targeted by Birmingham City after his dismissal as the manager of Hibernian.

Birmingham manager Chris Hughton still has a vacancy for the post of assistant manager.

Calderwood was Hughton’s number two at Newcastle United and he tried to lure him to Birmingham during the summer but City could not agree a compensation fee with Hibs.

Hughton brought in a first-team coach but he still has the position of his number two to fill. If Calderwood was to walk into a new job, the move would be expected to reduce the level of compensation that Hibs could potentially face.
