Hibs target Stranraer pair Mitchell and Longridge

REPRESENTATIVES from Hibs have taken in Stranraer’s last ten games and the Stair Park club believe that their goalkeeper David Mitchell and defender Jackson Longridge have caught the eye of the Easter Road side.

Hibs scouts have been watching Stranraer in action ever since their Petrofac Training Cup semi-final with Livingston in October. Blues manager Stephen Aitken pin-pointed 24-year-old Mitchell, who has spent six years at the club, and summer signing Longridge, 19, as the targets.

Aitken said: “We are aware that Hibs have been tracking us across Scotland and it is a massive compliment and we reckon it is David and Jackson they are looking at.

“David has been No 1 since joining from Ayr and has played a lot. Jackson also came in from Ayr and has established himself with very solid performances. We have not heard anything officially from Hibs but they certainly seem keen on us.”
