

Allan’s 26th-minute free-kick earned Hibs a narrow 1-0 victory over Alloa Athletic on Saturday and earned the former Dundee United and West Brom player only his second goal of the season. The player himself has admitted he has been ‘desperate’ to get on the score-sheet more often, with his only previous strike coming in the 6-3 rout of Dumbarton back in November.
However, Stubbs reckons the 23-year-old, who was the subject of three failed bids from Dundee United last month, gets as much enjoyment from setting up goals with a ‘killer’ pass as he does from hitting the back of the net himself.

Hide AdThe Easter Road head coach said: “He’s got it in his locker but he wants to provide, rather than score opportunities.


“He gets himself into some great positions and we’ve been on at him all the time to shoot and have more shots at goal.
“But he sometimes wants to play that really clever pass in.
“But you can’t have everything, otherwise he wouldn’t be playing here!”
