Alan Pattullo: Why I’m buying a season ticket

Doing the hard sell at a time of global crisis is a tricky task but Hibs seem to have pulled it off with reasonable grace after going ahead with a season ticket launch yesterday.

“I know there are more important things in life and in the world at the minute,” said chief executive Leeann Dempster in a video. “But I do think we need to look to the future and have a bit of normality as well.”

The fans, she said, have never let the club down. The same can be said of fans of every club. And we are all uneasy about what the current shutdown means for our teams.

I’ll be purchasing a season ticket for Dundee having not had one for longer than I care to admit – writing about football limited my visits.

And I see they still have a great deal where a season ticket for children under 12 costs just £1. It’s probably about time an unwitting two-year-old son got his first taste of the unique Dens Park experience.
