Hearts coach Robbie Neilson is Championship Manager of the Month for December thanks to a 100 per cent league record.

His team won four out of four Championship fixtures during the month, earning him the award from the SPFL which is presented by Glen’s Vodka.

Hearts began December with a 2-0 victory at Greenock Morton before thumping Queen of the South 6-1 at Tynecastle Park.

Their final two games in the month were also at home as they overcame Ayr United 5-3 before a 3-1 triumph against Arbroath.

Hearts scored 16 goals in total in the four matches and currently sit five points clear at the top of the Championship table.

After a disappointing 3-1 defeat at Dundee two weeks ago, they travel to Alloa Athletic this Saturday aiming to recapture winning form.

Neilson’s stated aim for the campaign is to win the title and secure automatic promotion back to the top flight of Scottish football.
