For the Glasgow side, the showpiece occasion presented an opportunity to claim an unprecedented quadruple treble, while their opponents from the Championship were hoping to cause a major upset.

No fans were in attendance inside the national stadium as the 2019-20 final was held seven months later than originally planned having been postponed in May due to the coronavirus pandemic.

And here’s what you said about Neil Lennon’s team selection - and Scott Brown’s inclusion

It’s cup final day and I was a bit nervous this morning.

Soro had food poisoning last night and felt better this morning but Browny was always in our thoughts - we’ll need his experience out there

Pundits discuss Hearts striker, Liam Boyce

His link-up play with Naimsith and  Walker will be integral if Hearts are going to get a result.

Shelley Kerr, BBC Scotland

The important thing for Liam Boyce is he gets into those areas where he can score goals. We’ve seen clips where he’s wider and not impacting the game, he is at his best when he’s centre of the box because he’s a goalscorer

It’s the final countdown - how will the game go?

Here’s what our online team thought ahead of the game.

The teams are on the pitch and we’re moments away from kick-off to the much-delayed 2020 William Hill Scottish Cup final

Steven Naismith begins the Scottish Cup final 2020 - the 135th in the competition’s history.

Christophe Berra flicks Andy Irving’s early free-kick towards goal - it’s going wide but Conor Hazard scrambles across his goal to grab the ball.

Celtic have utilised the width of the Hampden pitch on a couple of occasions now when going forward to Craig Gordon’s goal - the Jambos are defending the west side of Hampden in the first half - but Hearts have retreated in tight when the cup holders have come at them in a noticeable  tight 5-4-1 defensive pack which opens up once they go forward.

Bit of composure there from Christophe Berra to sell Callum McGregor a dummy and clear. If it didn’t come off the Celtic man was well in.
