Neilson’s side travel to bottom club Livingston while Rangers are concentrating on William Hill Scottish Cup duty.

Neilson said: “It’s a good opportunity to go 19 points clear but that’s all it is at the moment. We need to make sure that we go down there and try and get the three points and work hard.

“There’s no complacency here. We must make sure that we win every game, and we try to win every game by working hard.

“From our point of view, there’s no talk about winning leagues or anything, it’s about winning the next game.”

A youthful Hearts side suffered a 4-1 cup defeat at Livingston in August and Neilson is wary of their opponents.

He said: “The first game we played down there we lost in the Petrofac Training Cup, and in the second game we scraped through with a 1-0. It’ll be a difficult game for us.

“It’s a big game for both teams. I was there on Tuesday night when they played Alloa and it was a very hard game for them. They probably deserved to win the game and they’re battling for every point.”
