The SFA compliance officer is alleging McCulloch stepped on Carrick deliberately, thereby committing an act of violent conduct.

McCulloch has until 3pm on Wednesday to appeal the charge, which will be heard the following day if he chooses to do so.

If the charge is accepted McCulloch will be suspended for Rangers’ encounter with Hibernian on Friday night, while the second game ban will apply to next season’s Scottish Cup.
