Hearts: Jamieson insists new stadium plan viable

DISMISSED bidder Bob Jamieson has contacted Hearts administrators BDO to insist he can still come up with a viable plan to run the club.

In an email seen by The Scotsman, the Borders-based businessman claims he is close to finalising an agreement with unnamed partners to build a new stadium to be used by Hearts.

“HMFC Ltd is now at the final stages of negotiations with our partners to provide satisfactory proof of funding and a new stadium,” Jamieson wrote. “It is intended to make an amended bid of £2.5million as soon as possible for the 80 per cent Ukio and Ubig shares in HoM plc . . . without Tynecastle Stadium, which could then be sold by you for c.£5m to provide a total of £7.5m for the creditors.

“HMFC Ltd have always made it clear that we intend to build a new 25,000 capacity stadium in the west of the city. This will be fully-funded and will secure the long-term future funding for HoM plc. Foundation of Hearts will be invited to become part of HMFC Limited as minority shareholders, with representation on a new HoM plc Board of Directors. However, you will understand that this multi-million-pound project cannot be concluded at such short notice.”

Jamieson got in touch with BDO after learning that the Foundation had been named preferred bidder. He added in his email that he had sent his offer to Ukio administrators Valnetas two weeks ago. Valnetas were actively involved in discussions with BDO before the Foundation was given preferred-bidder status.
