The Scottish League One club are strengthening their squad to target a play-off place under manager Darren Young, and adding Swanson’s will be a considerable help.

“Danny signing is a massive coup for the club,” said Young on the club website. “We have been talking for a few weeks now amidst interest from full-time & other part-time clubs but, having spoken to some of our current players, he was keen to come to Bayview.

“Danny is a Premiership-quality winger and will bring even more experience and creativity to our team.”

Now 33, Swanson previously played for Berwick Rangers, Dundee United, Peterborough United, Coventry City, St Johnstone, Hearts and Hibs.

He left St Johnstone at the end of last season as a free agent and will now continue his career in Methil.
