Dikamona, 30, agreed to terminate his contract at Hearts last season at the start of the coronavirus pandemic so he could return to his native France.

The player told the Kilmarnock website: “I feel very happy to be here, it’s a real pleasure to be back playing football after everything that has been happening over the past few months.

“I know some of the lads from my time playing against them and I know how the team like to play so hopefully I can really add something to the squad.”

He later tweeted: “To the @JamTarts fans, I would like to thanks you all for what you gave me, I will be a Hearts fan for a long long time... now I’m a @KilmarnockFC

player and I will love this club and will fight for it with all of what I have and I can’t wait to start.”

Alex Dyer, the Killie manager, said: “Clevid is a strong defender who has experience in this league and I needed someone who could fit in straight away so I hope he is going to be a good addition to the club.”
