Hearts star Laryea Kingston loses appeal against red card

HEARTS star Laryea Kingston today lost his appeal against his red card in Hearts' Clydesdale Bank Premier League victory at Aberdeen.

He will now miss the Tynecastle club's SPL trip to Tannadice to face Dundee United on Sunday afternoon.

The Ghana international was sent off in Saturday's 1-0 win at Pittodrie for a tackle on Dons midfielder Fraser Fyvie.

Half-time substitute Kingston had only been on the field seven minutes when he was shown red by referee Willie Collum.

Hearts boss Jim Jefferies had said he wasn't sure the tackle even merited a yellow card, never mind a straight red.

But for the appeal to fail, Collum must have reviewed his decision and indicated to the SFA that he was satisfied it was correct.
