Hamilton 1 - 6 Dundee: Milnes grabs a hattrick as Accies crumble

DUNDEE continued their surge in form with this emphatic win over an Accies side short in confidence.

The 21st-minute opener was a horror moment for Accies keeper David Hutton, who dropped a routine Stephen O’Donnell cross and Steven Milne pounced.

On 35 minutes Gary Irvine made a late challenge on Ziggy Gordon and, with the Accies fans screaming for red, the defender was shown yellow. Two minutes later, Irvine played a long ball up to Milne, who looked up and spotted Hutton off his line before sending a perfect chip sailing into the net from 22 yards.

It got worse for the hosts five minutes before the break when O’Donnell latched onto a Gavin Rae pass before firing into the top corner from 18 yards.

Milne grabbed his third shortly after the break in front of his own fans with a cheeky side flick beyond the keeper from a Jake Hyde cross.

Hat-trick hero Milne played in Nicky Riley for Dundee’s fifth on 71 minutes then Rae got a late sixth before Accies’ Dougie Imrie smashed home a consolation from 18 yards.
