Stewart was twice nominated for the PFA Scotland Player of the Year award during his two seasons at Dens Park after joining from Cowdenbeath.

This led to a £500,000 move to Birmingham City, but Stewart failed to find the net in any of his 26 appearances.

He’ll become Aberdeen’s third summer signing after Greg Tansey and Ryan Christie joined last season’s Ladbrokes Premiership runners-up.
