Goram on hand to help Selkirk as they fight for a draw
Goram, at the invitation of the Selkirk committee, warmed up the two home goalkeepers for an hour before the game and his coaching may have had some influence as both custodians, John Dodds and Bruce Connelly, denied the Hibs youngsters with a series of excellent saves.
“I was asked if I would like to make a guest appearance to help out the Selkirk goalkeepers and I was delighted to oblige,” said Goram.

Hide AdHibs had Scott Smith, Danny Handling and Sam Stanton in their starting line-up, and quickly took the game to Selkirk with all three of them making an impact on proceedings.
Hibs took the lead shortly after half-time when Handling, amid calls for offside from the Selkirk defenders, sped through and rounded the exposed Dodds before rolling the ball into the empty net.
However, Hibs were shocked midway through the second half when a Lee Stephen cross found Michael Holness and his powerful shot was pushed away by Dougie Horne but only as far as Jason Inglis who thumped the loose ball into the net for the equaliser.
Elsewhere, Leith Athletic and Edinburgh City drew 3-3 in another pre-season friendly.
