Good news on salary for Pars players

Dunfermline have paid up their wages shortfall for October, and have told the first-team squad they are hopeful of meeting November’s payment on time this week.

With relegation from the SPL costing over £1 million and with no home game for four weeks, the Pars were unable to pay an £81,000 tax bill in full last week.

Players and staff were given only around two-thirds of their salaries for last month, but were paid the balance after Saturday’s 4-0 win over Dumbarton.

Manager Jim Jefferies has revealed that the club’s board hope to confirm in the next 24 hours that November’s salaries will be paid on time.
