Girls on top as Scottish Shields events get underway

The Scottish Shields are underway and it was two girls' teams '“ Montrose Academy and Forfar Academy '“ who were the first to get through the opening ties.

In the Senior Girls’ event, Forfar drew 2-2 with St John’s High School, but managed to edge into the second round 3-2 on penalties.

St John’s High also came off second best to Montrose Academy in the Under-15 girls. The Angus side won 1-0.

There are only two events for the girls but the boys 
have Under-13, Under-14, Under-15, Under-16 and a 
Senior Shield.

In the senior event, Perth Grammar won an exciting match against St Andrew’s High School, Kirkcaldy. After a 1-1 draw, the city side won 7-6 on penalties.

In the Under-14s, Queen Anne High defeated Harris Academy 1-0.
