Gemma Fay's focus is on Scotland team
The goalkeeper took her cap tally over a 19-year period to an extraordinary 200 in the final warm-up match against Republic of Ireland at Stark’s Park.
“I am very proud but also glad to get it out of the way. The focus now needs to be on the team,” said the 36-year-old who now plays her club football for Stjarnan in Iceland.

Hide AdWhen you’ve waited so long for a crack at a major finals you might as well start with a blockbuster against England, which takes place on Wednesday in Utrecht, and Fay believes that, even with the loss of star players Kim Little and Jenny Beattie, the Auld Enemy won’t be taking them lightly.
“I would imagine, and hope, they would view us with respect,” said the keeper. “It has been well publicised the players we won’t have [because of injury] and I suppose that comes with a bit of an unknown for them.
“We have performed fairly well against England in the last couple of games we have played them – granted that both were friendlies.
“You also have to look at the context – the first game in a major championship is a sticky one for both sides.”
