Formartine take time to find feet

BOBBY Mann, Formartine player/ assistant manager, revealed that the bookies’ favourites have set a two-year target to win the league.

The former Caley Thistle defender, 37, netted with a free-kick and a penalty in a 2-2 draw away to Nairn County.

Despite assembling a squad full of Scottish League experience, Formartine have won one of four league games.

“We’ve had a few injuries and we’ve not had a chance to get a settled team out there yet,” Mann said.

Elsewhere, champions Buckie Thistle moved two points clear at the top after a 6-0 victory at Fort William.

Turriff United and Cove Rangers tied 2-2 at the Haughs, while Deveronvale trounced Brora Rangers 5-0.

Forres took all points at Inverurie with a 2-0 win, while Fraserburgh edged out Clach 5-3 at Bellslea.

Huntly won 2-1 at Lossie, and Rothes kick-started their season with a 2-1 victory over Wick.

Keith posted a 3-2 win away to Strathspey.
