West Ham manager Sam Allardyce will not face disciplinary action from the Football Association following his media comments after his side’s 2-2 draw with Manchester United on Wednesday.

Allardyce was upset that assistant referee Harry Lennard has failed to spot Robin van Persie was offside when he scored United’s second equaliser of the game and claimed it had cost the Hammers a “famous win”.

Boruc awarded new Southampton deal

Southampton’s Polish goalkeeper Artur Boruc has signed a deal to stay for two more seasons.

The 33-year-old former Celtic keeper’s contract had been due to expire at the end of this season but, having established himself as Southampton’s first choice keeper in recent months, he has agreed to stay on.

“Artur deserves this contract because, in the three months that I’ve been here, he has been crucial for us,” manager Mauricio Pochettino said.

Orient to stay put if share bid fails

Leyton Orient chairman Barry Hearn has announced the east London club will stay at their current Brisbane Road ground should they be unsuccessful in their bid to groundshare at the Olympic Stadium.

Hearn, who is continuing his legal battle in pursuit of a groundshare with West Ham, is also giving away 1,500 free season tickets to youngsters and students in a bid to create a new generation of Orient supporters.

Kids go free at Palmerston party

Second Division champions Queen of the South will allow youngsters into their trophy presentation game against East Fife next weekend free of charge.

The Doonhamers are allowing under 12-year-olds in for nothing for their last home game of the season at Palmerston Park to see the Irn-Bru Second Division Championship trophy handed over to player/manager Allan Johnston and his squad.

Hull on the brink of Premier return

Hull can all but secure a return to the Premier League when they face Bristol City tonight. Steve Bruce’s men take on the already-relegated Robins, looking to open up a nine-point gap over third-placed Watford.

Should they do so, the Hornets will need to win all three of their remaining games and then call on goal difference.
