League leaders Queen of the South put on another five star performance on the road.

Stranraer 0, Queen of the South 5

Paul Burns gave the league leaders a 17th-minute lead. Seven minutes later, Stranraer keeper David Mitchell was sent off for a foul and Ryan McGuffie scored with the resultant penalty. Derek Lyle made it 3-0 before the break. Clark added a fourth before Lyle made it five.

Ayr United 5, Albion Rovers 2

Tony Stevenson hit the crossbar early on but Michael Donald responded with a goal for Ayr.

Michael Moffat’s penalty doubled their advantage, Robbie Winters pulled one back, Donald scored his second, Moffat added two for his hat-trick before Winters got his second.

Forfar Athletic 0, Alloa Athletic 1

Ben Gordon headed home Jamie Doyle’s cross to give Alloa a late win.

Gavin Swankie had an early chance for Forfar but could not direct his shot on target. Kevin Cawley hit the crossbar in the final minutes of the first half as Alloa pressed. Gordon finally came up with the winner.

Stenhousemuir 2, East Fife 1

Stenhousemuir had the better of the first half with Calum Antell the busier keeper, doing well to block a 35th minute volley from Bryan Hodge after Darren Smith shot wide.

Scott McBride opened accounts in 55 minutes but Hodge equalised then scored the winner.

Arbroath 0, Brechin City 1

Alan Trouten struck with just three minutes left to give Brechin all three points.

Arbroath looked the more likely early on and Mark Baxter and 
Graham Bayne both sent headers wide. But Trouten turned in Gary Fusco’s pass for a late winner.
