KILMARNOCK manager Kenny Shiels has warned Everton that they won’t snatch teenage defender Mark O’Hara on the cheap.

Winger Matt Kennedy was just 17 when he moved to Goodison in August. On Saturday the Toffees’ reserve-team coach David Weir was at Rugby Park to run the rule over O’Hara, one of his side’s better performers in the 2-1 defeat by Dundee. Shiels said no bid has yet been made and added he will drive a hard bargain if Everton, make an official approach.

• Former Aberdeen striker Darren Mackie played his first game for almost a year as he made an unsuccessful American debut. The 30-year-old moved to the States after failing to find a new club following his release from the Pittodrie side. He signed for former Aberdeen and Rangers defender David Roberston’s Phoenix FC in America’s USL Professional Division – their third tier. Mackie’s debut was delayed after a groin strain, but he finally featured in a 3-1 defeat to Oklahoma City.

• Joey Barton claims he will still be a Marseille player next season as an agreement already exists with QPR.

Barton is currently on loan with the Ligue 1 club, who took him on in August while he served a 12-match ban incurred during the last game of the 2011-12 season against Manchester City. The midfielder said on Twitter that he would not be going back to Loftus Road, regardless of their league status, and that OM are now “in his blood”.
