Former Hearts and Raith Rovers striker Christian Nade has left Stranraer after having his contract terminated via mutual consent.

The 32-year-old joined the Stair Park club this past summer, netting twice in 12 appearances as Brian Reid’s side try to keep their heads above water in the League One relegation fight.

After struggling with injuries, the decision has been made to allow Nade to leave the club. Stranraer said the player leaves with their “best wishes”.

After spending three seasons with Hearts earlier in his career, Nade returned to Scottish football in 2014 with Dundee.

Despite scoring in their promotion clinching win over Dumbarton, he was not offered a new contract by manager Paul Hartley and moved to Raith Rovers the following season, where he scored the winning goal as Raith defeated Rangers 2-1 in a Scottish Cup tie at Ibrox.

Upon leaving Starks’ Park, he signed for Hamilton Accies in the top flight, spending half-a-season at New Douglas Park before moving to Dumbarton in January.

The French striker scored freely for the Sons but turned down the offer of a new deal, hoping for a full-time contract before joining Stranraer.
