East of Scotland League: Strollers relieved by Rennie’s winner

CIVIL Service Strollers moved into second position in the Central Taxis Premier Division behind Spartans – whose game at Tynecastle was postponed – with a 3-2 victory over Edinburgh City.

John Dunn and Chris Inglis fired the Strollers into a two-goal lead before Douglas Gair replied. Gair equalised from the penalty spot but Danny Rennie scored a late winner.

Whitehill Welfare and Gretna 2008 shared the points in a tense 2-2 encounter.

In the First Division, Craigroyston beat Hawick Royal Albert 2-0, while Easthouses Lily and Gala Fairydean drew 1-1. Duns were held 1-1 by Peebles Rovers, and Eyemouth United drew 4-4 with Berwick Rangers Reserves, while Coldstream beat Kelso United 5-2.
