East of Scotland: Moosavi seals Uni win over Heriot-Watt

Edinburgh University beat their Capital rivals Heriot-Watt University 2-1 in the Central Taxis Premier Division thanks to two first half goals from Cyrus Moosavi. The pacy striker scored his first from the penalty spot after only four minutes when Andrey Kuzmenko was pulled down and, midway through the first half, he scored again with a low shot. Jamie Forsyth pulled a goal back for Heriot-Watt early in the second half but the Edinburgh defence held out with goalkeeper Mark Tait making two superb late saves.

Berwick Rangers Reserves were surprisingly beaten 2-0 at home by Peebles Rovers in the First Division thanks to a goal from Peter Conaghan and a Craig Edgar penalty.

In the Image Printers East of Scotland Qualifying Cup, Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale enjoyed a 2-0 victory in the Borders against Gala Fairydean, with strikes from Alan McDonagh and Craig Stevenson.
