Division 2: Alloa lose ground in Stranraer as leaders Queens get back to winning ways

A round-up of all yesterday’s Division 2 fixtures

Stranraer 3 - 2 Alloa Athletic

Michael Dunlop headed home a cross from Chris Aitken to give Stranraer a half-time lead.

Craig Malcolm made it 2-0 in 56 minutes but Graeme Holmes headed a goal back for Alloa. Robert Love made it 3-1 before Robert Thomson pulled another goal back for Alloa.

Queen of the South 1 - 0 Brechin City

Leaders Queen of the South returned to winning ways and took the lead midway through the first half when Danny Carmichael scored with his left foot from Nicky Clark’s cross. Brechin almost salvaged when Alan Trouten sent a close-range header wide.

Forfar Athletic 1 - 1 Arbroath

Gavin Swankie was denied by Tony Bullock as Forfar threatened but the hosts made the breakthrough in the 73rd minute when on-loan 
Dale Hilson turned in Ross Campbell’s pass.

However, Derek Holmes equalised for Arbroath in the final minute.

Ayr United 2 - 3 East Fife

Ayr took an early lead when David White turned a cross into his own net. Kyle McAusland doubled Ayr’s advantage on 17 minutes.

Scott McBride pulled a goal back early in the second half and then equalised from the penalty spot before White netted a late winner.
