Dunfermline: Masterton insists Pars will survive

THE future of Dunfermline should become clearer today when the Court of Session hears the legal challenge mounted by former owner Gavin Masterton – who last night insisted he was “100 per cent sure” the club will not be liquidated.

An interim interdict lodged by Masterton in a dispute over the club’s training ground at Pitreavie is scheduled to be heard by Lord Woolman at 11am and is expected to last two hours. Speaking to STV last night, Masteron said: “I feel I have no other option but to apply for the interdict in order to protect what’s left of my personal pension fund. This is not a blocking device to the takeover of the club and I am 100 per cent certain that Dunfermline will not be liquidated.”
