Dons put in target practice

ABERDEEN midfielder Fraser Fyvie has revealed his side are looking to fire themselves up the table with some extra shooting practice.

The Dons go into tomorrow’s SPL clash at Hibernian one place and one point above their opponents at the bottom of the table. Craig Brown’s side have failed to score in five of their six SPL games this season and some decent approach play was undone by poor finishing in their most recent game, a 2-0 defeat at Ibrox.

Fyvie said: “I thought we did all right in the Rangers game but we never won so we were a bit down about that. But the boys are buzzing again. The international break gives you a wee rest so we are back raring to go again.”

When asked about the goalscoring problem, the teenager said: “The gaffer has put on a bit more shooting practice and the boys are doing well so we are getting there.”

Fyvie is almost like a new signing to Brown, who took over in December last year, after returning to fitness in the summer following a cruciate ligament injury picked up last August.

“It’s brilliant being back,” he said. “I was out for eight months so I’m just enjoying playing football again.”
