Division Three: Peterhead seal eighth win in row

Our roundup of the latest action from SFL Division Three

Queen’s Park 0, Peterhead 3

In what was a rehearsal for Wednesday’s play-off semi-final first leg, Bryan Gilfillan headed the visitors ahead in the 21st minute before second-half goals from Andy Rodgers and Dean Cowie rounded off a convincing eighth win in a row for in-form Peterhead.

Elgin City 3, East Stirling 2

Elgin City missed the play-offs on goal difference despite this win. Jamie Duff and Stuart Leslie were both on target for Elgin, only for the visitors’ Jamie Glasgow and Paul Quinn to do likewise in the first half. Ceiran McLean’s late winner proved too little to overhaul Berwick in fourth place.

Clyde 1, Stirling Albion 2

Stirling Albion finished a mixed campaign on a positive note. Clyde opened the scoring through Stefan McCluskey but then had Iain Gray dismissed. Jordan White equalised with a 55th-minute penalty before Ross McGeachie swept home Daniel Ashe’s pass for the winner.

Annan Athletic 1, Montrose 1

The visitors took a 24th-minute lead when Martin Boyle set up Scott Johnston to curl home past Alex Mitchell. However, Michael Daly levelled for Annan in the 58th minute after which the hosts’ Lewis Hawke was denied a late winner by Montrose goalkeeper Sandy Wood.
