Deuchar is relishing his Perth return

KENNY DEUCHAR has never lost at McDiarmid Park when facing St Johnstone – a record he wants to keep intact when Livingston play his old side in the Scottish Communities League Cup second round tonight.

Deuchar didn’t do too badly in Perth in his two spells as a Saint either, with just eight home defeats from a total of 26 appearances.

And the striker, who bagged a double against Dundee at the weekend, is hoping it can be a happy hunting ground for him again as he looks to fire Livi to victory.

He said: “I’m really looking forward to going back to McDiarmid Park. I did well in my time there, got on well with the fans and had a good season with them in the SPL.

“I had the opportunity to stay on but I chose to go back to medicine. But I have a lot of fond memories of being there and, touch wood, a decent record up there.

“I’ve not lost too many games at McDiarmid Park.

“Hopefully that can continue and we get ourselves into the next round.”
