QUEEN of the South have brought in two experienced players ahead of tomorrow’s Scottish Communities League Cup first-round tie against Alloa.

Manager Allan Johnston has boosted his strike force by bringing in Derek Lyle and strengthed the midfield with the arrival of Derek Young. They signed last night after turning out as trialists for Queens against Dumbarton at the weekend. Lyle, 31, had a spell at the Doonhamers ten years ago, while 32-year-old Young last played for Morton after leaving Grindavik.
