Dalkeith give Parkin another chance in their top-of-the-table-clash

FORMER Bonnyrigg and Linlithgow full-back Paul Parkin will play a second game as a trialist for Dalkeith tomorrow in a crunch clash in the South Division title race. Willie Pearson’s side entertain Falkirk in a top-of-the-table clash, with both locked together on 29 points, though Dalkeith have a game in hand.

“It’s a big game and if we can win it then people might start to think we have an outside chance of the title,” said Pearson.

Tranent are lying third, two points behind the top two, with Fauldhouse and Blackburn both stalking the leaders as well.

“I still think Fauldhouse will go up but we’ll keep plodding away and we’ve already done better this season than a lot people expected,” added Pearson.

On tomorrow’s opponents, the Dalkeith boss said: “Falkirk keep saying they’re not paying their players. They can kid the kidders but they can’t kid me.

“They’ve got a former Scottish Junior international in Ronnie McPherson in goals for them and you’re not trying to tell me he’s not getting paid.”

As Pearson weighs up whether or not to offer Parkin a contract, he has signed Craig Fell from Bonnyrigg.
