Dalkeith boss upbeat after Raith result

Dalkeith boss Willie Pearson
was today feeling upbeat after
his team drew 2-2 with a Raith Rovers XI consisting of several
first-team players and a
sprinkling of youngsters.

“I’m delighted with the
performances the players are producing just now and I only hope they carry it into the
season ahead.

“We have Hearts as
opponents next week and I’m looking forward to seeing how the players respond to that challenge.”

Kenny Fisher and the
impressive Michael Linton were Dalkeith’s goalscorers. Linton is catching the eye of some Senior sides and Pearson will do well to hang on to his protégé.

Haddington had a fine 5-3 victory over East of Scotland outfit Craigroyston at Peffermill. Manager Stevie McLeish is assembling a squad capable of grabbing a promotion place at least. Having already lost striker Sean
Jamieson to East Fife he was looking for a response from his strikers. Jack Wilson, Michael Motion, Sean Connaghan, Danny Simpson and Michael Noble gave his the
response he was looking for.

Elsewhere Edinburgh lost 6-1 at Preston and Blackburn lost narrowly 1-0 at home to
Loganlea.
