Club 1872 becomes sixth biggest Rangers shareholder

Supporters group Club 1872 has become the third largest shareholder in Rangers after purchasing over 300,000 shares.

The body now own more than six per cent of the club after the move, which was part of the group’s target when they came together to combine several previous fan associations into one unit.

A statement read: “Club 1872 is delighted to announce the purchase of a further 310,280 shares in Rangers International Football Club PLC.

“This takes the number of shares held by Club 1872 to 4,900,776 which represents 6.01 per cent of the total shares in RIFC PLC.

“This also now makes Club 1872 the 6th largest individual shareholder in RIFC PLC.

“We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to Club 1872 for their continued support. Your support makes purchases like this possible.

“We would also encourage all Rangers supporters to join Club 1872 and play a central role in ensuring that our club is secured for generations to come.”
