Edinburgh CITY progressed to the final of the Image Printers Cup after an impressive 2-1 away win at the University of Stirling.

City took the lead after seven minutes when Grant Vanson dispossessed Stirling’s Kevin Walker to tap into the empty net, leaving the goalkeeper screaming for a foul.

The University hit back quickly however, Craeg Robertson levelling from a free-kick.

City took a strong hold of the game after the break and regained the lead on the hour mark. A short corner led to a neat, lobbed cross from Torrance which fell perfectly for Shaun Harrison to volley into the bottom left corner.

City goalkeeper Andrew Stobey then made a skilful save to deny Stirling substitute Pentland from close range and help his side overcome a late bombardment from the students and earn the right to play Whitehill for the trophy.
