Changing Room Chat: Under-19s' travel plans turn to ash

SCOTLAND'S Under-19 football team were yesterday affected by the volcanic ash that has been shooting out the Eyjafjallajoekull glacier in south-western Iceland.

Billy Stark's men won 3-2 against Luxembourg on Wednesday night but were unable to fly home after the return flight from Amsterdam was cancelled yesterday.

Having a Scotland football team in the airport caused a bit of a stir and Stark was interviewed by Dutch television, before the squad took a coach to Rotterdam. They were due to catch a ferry to Hull last night and then another bus back up to Scotland.

ABERDEEN know they're in a relegation battle, that's for sure.

After last week's defeat to St Johnstone, manager Mark McGhee said: "We know we're not safe." But just in case there were any doubters, the club website has been ramming the point home.

With the Dons six points off the bottom of the SPL, Red Web has cranked up the pressure in the past few days. First there was a historical piece charting all the occasions the club have come close to the drop, then there was an interview with Denis Law urging fans to get behind the team, and last night the website posted highlights of the first leg of the 1995 relegation play-off!

TIGER 'SET FOR DIVORCE'

TIGER Woods was back in the tabloids yesterday, with the Sun, Daily Record and Daily Mirror all claiming that the world's No 1 golfer will be divorced by his wife, Elin, within weeks.

Nike broadcast an advert on US television before Tiger's comeback at the Masters last week in which he listened to the voice of his dad, Earl. According to the reports, Elin thought the commercial was "cheesy" and she saw it as the "final straw".

A source said: "Elin was violently angry and thought it was a cheesy thing to do. It just made her madder. She is over Tiger. I wouldn't be surprised if she files for divorce soon."

The Sun, meanwhile, confirmed that Brechin City striker Rory McAllister had received the newspaper's Golden Boot award after becoming the first player in Scotland to score 25 goals this season.

McAllister scored a double in Brechin's 6-2 defeat at Stirling Albion on Wednesday night to pip Rangers' Kris Boyd and Adam Rooney of Inverness Caledonian Thistle. "At least winning the Golden Boot has given me something to smile about," said McAllister after the Forthbank loss.
