Changing room chat: Totti performs Yuletide U-turn

ROMA captain Francesco Totti has come over all Christmassy by saying he will not leave the Serie A club despite threatening to do so 24 hours earlier.

Before the club’s Crimbo party, Totti said he had been thinking of quitting and would do so if he continued to be a target for the fans’ frustrations. But, as the party spirit kicked in, he said: “The Roma fans insulted me but I was misunderstood. I’m staying here.” Totti, 35, had a penalty saved by Juventus keeper Gianluigi Buffon in Monday’s 1-1 draw and was heavily criticised by fans after the game.
