Changing room chat: Sion go to war with Fifa again

SION president Christian Constantin is seeking “several million euros” in compensation from Fifa after Serbia forward Dragan Mrdja was injured on international duty.

Mrdja tore knee ligaments in Serbia’s 2-0 loss in Mexico on Saturday. Constantin objects to clubs being obliged to give national teams their players, who return injured.

Sion – already fighting Fifa, Uefa and Swiss authorities over a transfer ban – are a member of the European Club Association, which wants Fifa to insure international players’ salaries.
